Our children take part daily in the Harvest Documentary Project, as it also teaches them the power of a lens and the responsibility of that power. The documentary also follows the story of The Harvest Project as a whole and how the children grow physically, mentally and spiritually through harvesting.
We have recently started the growing greetings project which is a greetings card made out of seed paper which can be planted at a later stage. On each card we display different artworks done by our children on different topics regarding human rights and conservation. The cards are sold and all profits go back into the project.
THE EDIE & COLLIE FEEDING SCHEME PROJECT
After Blessings Eco Preparatory School had to relocate out of Plastic City because of Municipal Issues
and the risk of losing our Shoprite Sponsorship we are limited now to only assisting 30 children at a time with an education. The Feeding Scheme NPO 229-364 was formed in memory of two charitable Jews Edith & Colman Waner who did a lot for the City of Brakpan and were very proud of their home. We are aiming to assist the other +-300 children in the camp as well as pensioners and elders who need nutrition for medicinal purposes.
THE LAM PAW PROJECT
The Lam Paw Project is a communal dog support project which started when we met a beautiful little boy named Lam who became a halfway house where people abandoned their dogs in Plastic City. Lam (10 years old) and his family are poor and still shared what they had with numerous dogs and provided the most important gift, the gift of love and respect. The Harvest Project began a support system where we provide food and health supplies for the dogs as well as a sterilisation program. Donations are needed.
THE PAPER PROJECT
In Plastic City there are children being born every day in this country, but having immigrant parents creates huge hurdles for these children. We are working on getting our children legal papers so they can have an identity in this world and stop being regarded as lost souls.
